About Sugarbird Studio

Several years ago I took a scuba diving vacation to St. Croix. There I saw a sweet and quite social little bird called the Sugarbird. The locals left small bowls of sugar on their patios inviting Sugarbirds to visit. I was deeply moved by this gesture, and after sitting with the notion for a while it hit me: It is in our love that we honor ourselves and honor one another. In love we understand our place as part of the universal family. When you give of your deepest heart, the world will step forward to meet you. Thus, the spirit of Sugarbird Studio was born. Like the St. Croix locals who offer sugar, I offer my creative gifts to you here.

About Erin Brimmer

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a creative, curious and very playful explorer. I’ve always been drawn to the powerful wisdom of the natural world – a place where miracles happen every day. I marvel at trees that grow up through and are nurtured by older fallen trees, seeds that bring new beginnings, pods that burst open to set abundant new life free, the smell of the earth after a rain, the delicate feel of a moss covered tree. I’ve also always loved to watch the light that lifts another’s face when you deliver that perfect gift.  I believe we are here to love each other. It is in loving that life brings our greatest reward.

Sugarbird Studio is the place I combine my love of making with my love of giving, delivering my light to you through art.  It is here that I plant myself firmly on the side of love, of YES, of newness and regeneration. It is here that I honor what is possible inside each of us, what is true and beautiful. With Sugarbird Studio I make my sincere offering to the world and to you.

I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Sculpture from the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of GA. After graduation I explored the US, with a long stint in the Pacific Northwest, finally settling near the Pacific Ocean in southern California in 2010.  I spent a decade in Marketing in Corporate America, and miraculously emerged with my heart intact.  I feel infinitely blessed that I am able to make a living doing what I love most.
